Invitation to holy listening

​God is constantly reminding us of his promises to us throughout our lifetime as well as throughout the history of the world. The Scriptures are full of references for God's people to "Remember."  This is the essence of our covenant relationship with God.  He speaks to us in a number of different ways, but we will miss what he is saying if we are not paying attention.  In this retreat we will explore some of the unexpected ways God speaks and look at what needs to happen in our lives to truly cultivate a listening heart.

To Ponder...

"Sometimes we avoid listening for fear for what we may hear, sometimes for fear that we may hear nothing at all but the empty rattle of our own feet on the pavement...  “Be not afraid,” says another, “for lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”  He says he is with us on our journeys.  He says he has been with us since each of our journeys began.  Listen for him.  Listen to the sweet and bitter airs of your present and your past for the sound of him. "
